Demi Glace Steak Bites

Steak Bites with Easy Demi-Glace

If you want one appetizer that disappears fast and makes people say, “Wait… what IS this?” it’s these demi-glace steak bites. Rich, savory, and way easier than they sound.

Ingredients
Steak Bites

2 lbs beef steak (sirloin, ribeye, or strip), cut into bite-size pieces
Salt + pepper
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp butter

Quick Demi-Glace Shortcut

1 cup beef broth
2 Tbsp butter
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 small clove garlic, minced
Optional: splash of red wine or balsamic

Directions
Make the demi-glace first

  • In a small saucepan, bring beef broth to a simmer.
  • Let it reduce by about half (10–15 minutes).
  • Stir in Worcestershire, garlic, and butter until glossy.
  • Keep warm on low.

Cook the steak bites

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season steak generously with salt and pepper.
  • Sear in batches so they brown (about 2–3 minutes per side).
  • Add butter at the end and toss to coat.
  • Finish
  • Spoon or drizzle the warm demi-glace over the steak bites.

Serve with toothpicks. Watch them disappear.

Hosting tip: These are best served hot, but they hold well for grazing. If needed, keep them warm in a low oven.
