1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 cup sour cream
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper, to taste
8 oz egg noodles
In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and mushrooms and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the sliced sirloin steak to the pan and cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes.
Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and stir to combine. Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the sour cream and Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Pour the mixture into a large freezer-safe container and let cool completely. Label the container with the date and the contents.
When ready to enjoy, remove the container from the freezer and let it thaw in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Pour the thawed mixture into an oven-safe baking dish.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until heated through.
Serve the Beef Stroganoff over cooked egg noodles.
